Grand Hotel Cocumella – Sorrento

Not far from the town square of Sorrento, the Grand Hotel Cocumella was built in the 16th century as a Jesuit monastery and became a hotel in 1822. It is located in a large park that stretches down to the sea, offering panoramic views of the bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The hotel’s many amenities include a tennis court, banqueting and conference rooms, a chapel and a private ship for trips along the coast. The entire hotel is air-conditioned.

“The hotel is an old monastery and still has a chapel that was used by the monks. The hotel holds chamber music concerts in the chapel during the summer season. It is charming. The hotel has incredible gardens which jut down to the sea and it is built high on a cliff overlooking the ocean. The upper rooms have views of the ocean. There is an elevator down through the rocks to their own private beach. We swam in the Mediterranean Sea and it was incredible.”

“Beautiful hotel with incredible architecture and gardens with the nicest staff in the world. The food was very good.  A very comfortable and luxurious hotel”.
